Thok support

Let’s get your keyboard thocking.

Thok requires macOS 14 or later and Input Monitoring permission to respond while you type in other apps.

01

Allow Input Monitoring

  1. Open Thok from the menu bar.
  2. Select Open Input Monitoring.
  3. Enable Thok in System Settings.
  4. Return to Thok and turn Keyboard sounds on.
02

If you cannot hear sounds

  • Select Preview sound to check audio independently of keyboard permission.
  • Confirm the correct sound output and volume in macOS.
  • Turn Keyboard sounds off and on again, or select Retry if shown.
  • Reopen Thok after changing Input Monitoring permission.
03

When silence is expected

Held-key repeats, key releases, media keys, Touch ID, and power are intentionally silent. Password fields and apps using Secure Keyboard Entry may also be silent; Thok does not bypass protected input.
